ODTUG Kscope18 Deep Dive – Javascript in APEX – do it the right way

Last week at the KScope 2018 conference in Orlando we concluded the sessions in the APEX track with the Deep Dive / #LetsWreckThisTogether talks.

We took the format of the lightning talks and put them all into the context of a specific topic. The so called lightning talks are are series of presentations done by luminaries in the Oracle APEX community for 10-12 minutes each ... back to back.

This format has been really successful and entertaining in recent years.

This year we were focusing our efforts around Javascript in APEX. Like it or not, sooner or later you (as an Oracle APEX developer) will have to use Javascript in your applications. And way too often Javascript snippets are randomly found on the internet and just copied into your application. This will most certainly create issues in the long run when you think about maintaining your application over many years ... or just the next APEX Upgrade.

Thus we wanted to give some guidance on how to use Javascript in APEX in a professional way.
